Ummmmm, Here I Go

I have hit a semi funk lately. I always have plenty to blog about, trust me my mind goes 100 MPH, I just don't take the time to get it in a post. Honestly, I have been off the wagon for a couple of weeks. I haven't gained any weight thanks to the walking but I also haven't been on point either. I wish dieting was as easy as obtaining a life insurance quote! So instead of getting on here and talking about it, I have been well, I guess you could say ignoring it. So once again I am hoping back on the wagon. I guess this is all part of the way it goes, maybe one day it will just sink in and there will be none of this on again of again crap.

Not So Well

I haven't done so well the last couple of weeks with Weight Watcher's. Dieting is a P-I-A sometimes and I always find a way to sabotage myself! So today starts a new week for me. Back to writing it all down and continuing my walking. I must add that I have been very good about making sure I still exercise during my little hiatuses! That may have saved me from gaining a couple of pounds.

This past week has included a few days of not making such good eating choices..(slaps self) We went to dinner at Lenny and Joe's A Fish Tale on Monday, I chose the platter. The yummy assortment of wonderfully fried seafood (slaps self again) consisting of shrimp, scallops, clam strips and fish. Oh yeah, fries and coleslaw too! I didn't eat it all...way to much food. Tuesday and Wednesday, we ate at home. Thursday, well, we went to West Wings Bar and Grill, you see what is in the name right? Wings, yes I had wings (double slap) and beer. I must say they were not the best I have ever had, so I know I will not being going back there.

So now that my week of destruction is over and the slapping has stopped, reality has sunk back in and I am back on track. I must say it sure wasn't worth it...not at all! So I am going to hit up the grocery store and make this a good eating week! I wish there was a miracle pill...(wonders what I can find a GNC to use the GNC coupons I have...probably not much except multi-vitamins)

Are You Cooking A Holiday Meal?

Is the whole family coming over to your house for dinner. Are they craving you potatoes or homemade stuffing? We all know part of making a great meal is alot of work and part of it involves "taste testing". That is something you want to avoid, as hard as it will be. You can consume a lot of undocumented (if you have a food journal) calories that way. I understand that you want to make sure it has the right amount of spices or the right texture, but it can and will result in extra pounds.

Since John-Fat to Fit will be cooking Christmas dinner..Here are some tips on how to avoid taste testing.

  • Sugar free gum is your friend, chew it!
  • Use a 1/4 teaspoon if HAVE to taste test your food.
  • Try to only fix what you are going to eat, leaving yourself no chance for seconds.
  • If you have prepared more food than you need, portion it into individual containers and freeze or refrigerate immediately.
  • Don't snack while cooking meals
