End of Week Two

So I feel good about this week's weigh in. I know it won't be anything like the first week and that is okay. Really you should only lose one to two pounds a week anyways. I am finding that I am struggling with my water. I like water and never has problems drinking it before. It looks like drinking more water will be my goal for this week. Till later...

Back To Normal

So I am definately feeling better mentally, although I felt the onset of a migraine yesterday, that too has passed! It is amazing to me how had we can be on ourselves sometimes. Losing weight takes hard work and dedication. Sometimes it feels like it just doesn't happen fast enough. I know what I need to do, so I decided that I was going to take a day off from work next week and give myself a birthday make over!

So when you get in a funk, what helps you snap out of it?

In A Funk

So this morning I woke up in an off mood. I looked in the mirror and wasn't happy with what I saw, everything just seemed so wrong. Nothing like beating yourself up!

I defiantly need to go for a hair cut, I have spent so much time not caring that I think it really shows. It has been 1 year and 4 months since I went to the salon, those days of nice hair and nails seem so long ago. Even my clothes, I have plenty of nice clothes, just haven't cared much about it. As I progress with my weight loss all that seems to change. Now I want to look nicer and be noticed, as before I could have cared less if anyone knew I was there.

It is funny though, my husband thinks I look fine the way I am. I am glad he thinks so, he doesn't wake up feeling like he should squeeze his body in corsets just to hide the rolls. I can see what has happened to my body and I often wonder why I let it get so bad.

Staying Fit While At Work

I sure know how hard it is to sit at a desk all day. Come 3 o'clock in the afternoon my energy is at an all time low and I am ready for a snack. Here are a few tips to keep on track while at work.

  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Start a walking club and encourage others to join you.
  • Buy a pedometer and keep tack of your steps.
  • Exercise at your desk (ex. jumping jacks, marching in place, etc.)
  • Make healthier choices at the vending machines.
  • Use the nutrition information in the cafeteria to help guide you to make better food choices.

Let's Have A Poll

I have been interested in making some changes with this blog, I feel I need to make it more appealing to other readers. I recently stumbled across this site that offers free polls. So I decided to sign up and get one going. The sign up process was quick, just a few requirements, with an email confirmation and I was done! It was simple to set up the polls as well, which is great because I have never made one and I wasn't sure what I would have to do. I think I spent more time typing this that I did actually building the poll itself! With that said check my poll out and let me know what you think!

Healthy Living Made Easy

So you live with someone and talking about health issues is not something that happens. That's ok, there are things you can do without talking that can make a big difference in your loved ones life and help create habits without even saying a word.

  • Have dinner and then go take part in an active activity.
  • Always try to play outdoor activities together
  • Give a gift that promotes outdoor activity. A bike, roller blades, tennis racket, you get the idea.
  • Have the room for a garden? Start one and work in together
  • Plan a hike.
  • Instead of driving to your favorite local restaurant, walk there (if it is with walking distance).
  • Take a canoe trip.
  • Do small things that makes their life easier. If they walk after they do the dinner dishes, do the dishes for them. That way your loved one will be able to get right to walking and not have the time to think about not wanting to walk.
  • Hide the remote for the TV. I know when it is lost in my house I go nuts looking for it!
  • If your family is eco friendly, get outside and clean up yout neighborhood.
