Detoxify Your Body

Have you every tried this?? I haven't and often wonder if it was some sort of marketing scam. Now don't get me wrong, as most dieters do, we look into anything and everything. Some plans say it is painful and you pretty much need to stay at home. I actually found one site that had pictures of what supposedly comes out of your body! I'll just say that it was pretty gross!

If you have tried this or know someone who has, please share your experience. If you have not, but just want to share your thoughts, please feel free.

Vending Machines

They are not my friend!! We have them at work and of course they are always full of goodies. Chips, candy, cookies, little bags of mixed nuts, oh and the snack cakes! Snack cakes are my weakness. I defiantly try not to keep any change or one dollar bills with me! What about you? What is your vending machine weakness?

If you must have a snack try to go for the Pretzels. I know, not going to cure a sweet tooth! If it is something sweet you crave, skip the fruit pies and go for the the Ho Ho's or a Hershey's Sweet Escape Triple Chocolate Bar!

Another Tip: Find a couple of friends at work and share them. That will defianlty cut the calories!

Holiday Eating

Okay, so we made it through Thanksgiving, now it is time for Christmas dinner and then New Years Eve. I barely survived Thanksgiving goodies! How about you?

Here are some tips on surviving the last two holidays of the year.

  • eat before you go
  • don't stand around the food table
  • drink water
  • socialize, walk around the room
  • say "no", I know, easier said than done
  • bring fruit or veggie platter to the party
  • watch the alcohol, especially if you are driving!
  • don't let some else serve you, be in control
  • remember portion sizes
  • stay away, far far far away from those people who insist you eat, aka "FOOD PUSHERS"

My Other Bad Habit

Besides being overweight, I smoke. Yup, I sure am full of them! There are times I think why, why do I smoke, I should quit. There are other times, like what happened just now that make me think "I smoke because I want to and I guess, I like it!"

There is a guy I work with who is an ex-smoker. He was really very successful at quitting and I am proud of him. BUT is it within his right to follow me down the hall and ask "Ann Marie, where are you going? Ann Marie?"

My answer "Outside."

Him "For what?"

Me " To smoke."

Him" Come on Ann Marie, I thought you were gonna quit! What are you going outside for and why are you still smoking."

Me "Are you going to keep following me and I smoke because I want to. I could quit tomorrow and be hit by a bus."

UGGGGGG, JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!! I ALREADY KNOW IT IS NOT GOOD FOR ME!!!
