Well back when I started the Zone diet I thought that I would start excercising. That didn't happen for wekks 1 & 2. This week I have walked 2 miles a day, so far everyday. What a difference in how I feel. I am happy to say that I actually look forward to walking!!
A couple of years ago my Mom had major neck surgery and she had a torso-track that she swore by. My Mom is a nut about her weight and figure, so if she finds something that works and then swears by it. I am game to try it. So I have been using that as well...good for the belly and the arms..

Weighing in
That I come to realize that I am a scale whore!! You, I get on the scale twice a day. I know they say you should only weigh in one a week. But me, hell, I can't stay off the scale. I weigh myself every morning after I have been up for a while, but before I eat or drink anything. I then weigh myself again when I get home from work! Not quite sure why I do that but I do!!
They say it is not good to do it, weight can change on a daily basis and that I should really go by the way my clothes fit. I have asked my husband to his the scale and bring it out once a week. Well my husband is so supportive that he said "No!" So I guess I may have to recruit my 12 year old son. I honestly think that if I get rid of the scale, I will be more apt to stick to eating right.

Start of week 3
WOW...I don't remember the last time I really committed myself to a new weight of eating. I did the Atkins diet, lost 10 lbs the first week but by the end of week 2 I gave up. I am not really a big meat eater so I am sure that was part of my problem. The other was just the idea of meat and meat only for a while. I like veggies and fruit so I think that was the killer for me. The Zone diet is perfect. I can still have most of the fruit and veggies I love!!

End of week 2 is here
I really have fallen for this diet. I feel so wonderful. It is truley amazing that you can eat junk food for most of your life and in 2 weeks of eating correctly those cravings have almost disappeared. Every afternoon at work I would go to the lunch room and grab a cup of coffee and a cake from the vending machine. Last week I eer as much as thought about the vending machine.

The Zone and my husband
My husband decided that have was going to try the Zone diet with me. He did some complaining the first week, but it wasn't to bad. Well this week has been pure torture. Making face about everything I try to make. Today for lunch I am having shrimp with fresh veggies. It also comes with a dip make of spinach, plain yogurt and garlic herb soup mix. Well the minute my husband found out it was made of yogurt, he was not going to eat it and started to make faces. I work so hard to make these meals and all he does is give me a hard time. I am about ready to tell him to do his own thing.

So Called Healthy Habits
On the front of MSN.com this morning they have an article that I found interesting. The one one I found most interesting was about drinking 8 glasses of water a day.
They claim it is completely unnecessary! I try to drink 8 glasses of water, but it never happens. I find it interesting because all diets state that you need to drink plenty of water. So what's the deal with that? Do I, don't I...geez.
They say it can lead to water intoxication! What the hell is that??? It is caused when the kidneys can't keep up with the amount of fluids you intake.
So what does this mean to dieters? Does it help you lose weight? Who knows. even when I did drink plenty of water, I never attributed my weight loss to it. I would always lose the weight regardless of whether or not I drank water.

2 Weeks into the Zone
So I haven't written in a few days. Had some things going on that do not relate to this blog. Can check them out at my other blog that deals with my family issues.
So I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the Zone way of eating. I don't find my self to be hungry all the time. Over all I feel wonderful. I have been bad, drinking one cup of coffee a day. I love coffee and it is so hard not to have it. So I will try to slowly ween myself off of it.
Last nights dinner was really good. I made chicken with marinara sauce, topped with low fat mozzarella cheese. With that a big side of broccoli..
Overall the Zone diet takes sometime to get used to. It feel like a lot of work at times. Sometimes I feel like there is not enough time to get it all done. But I am sure that it will all get easier with time.
