The New Diet Pill....Alli

There is a new diet pill out that has been approved by the FDA. It is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline and it is called Alli. I must say that it peaked my interest for about 15 minutes. That is until I read the side effects.

Alli is available over the counter, which means you can walk into any CVS, Rite Aide or any neighborhood drug store and buy it without a prescription. They claim it will prevent the break down 1/4th or 25% of any fat you consume. Sounds good right? Sure but do you really want to fart and secrete an oily substance? Have loose stools or possibly run the risk of possibly crapping your pants because you cannot control your bowel movements?

I am an overweight person myself and I have had a weight problem since having my son 12 years ago. I guess most of my weight problem is from shear laziness. In high school, I was very weight conscious, ate right and exercised.

I look at this pill as an aid to allow overweight people to continue to eat poorly. There is a diet plan that you should follow and abide by for maximum results. How many people are actually going to use this pill as it should prescribed? My guess, not many! I have a feeling that most people are going to think “Well if it will break down 25% of that McDonald's cheeseburger I just ate. I could have another and another!!”

I am sure most of us have experienced an upset stomach with diarrhea after consuming McDonald’s food. I know I have and refuse to eat it. So now imagine the mess you could have after indulging in a few more burgers and fries then you should have had!!

It didn't work when it was called Xenical, so they repackaged it as Alli, and it still won't work! And ohmygod, oily stools? uncontrollable diarrhea? Has it occurred to people to just EAT LESS AND MOVE MORE???

The recommended diet plan calls for eating no more than 15 grams of fat at each meal. I would think that if you did that, concentrating on eating lean protein, low fat dairy, and filling your plate with veggies, you shouldn't need a laxative pill too. It seems so dangerous.

Some how Alli just doesn't seem appealing to me - they warn you to take along extra clothes just in case! I shudder to think about it.

Hey I thought it was only me who had shitcidences from McDonalds.

Is it terrible, despite side effects, I am still interested?

In college, I had a friend who drank poo-poo tea. some chinese tea that had a sever laxative effect. I thought she was pathetic, but now I am starting to get desperate. Arrrgh!
