What A Shock

So yesterday was weigh in day and I couldn't wait to get there. See, I have a scale at home but since rejoining Weight Watcher's I ask my husband to put it away so I would not be able to get on it and check my progress during the week. That always had led to sabotage for me in the past and this time I planned not to do that. So with no available scale at home, I have been relying on the way I feel and I had felt great all week.

Yesterday I wake up, thanks to Emmit the cat, at 4:30 in the morning. Ugh, My meeting is not till 10 am, what am I going to do? I managed to keep myself busy for a little while and before I knew it, it was time to hop in the shower and get ready to leave. On my way to my meeting I started to doubt how much weight I had lost. With my knee not being 100% I had not time in the gym. How annoying, my gym membership card just sitting there on the tv stand taunting me. Is it possible that I will lose a good number with out exercise? When I got to the meeting I decided that I didn't care what I lost, as long as I didn't gain for a 3rd week in a row. As far as I was concerned I had no reason to gain, I followed the program to the T!

Waiting in line, isn't that the hardest thing to do? Finally it is my turn, I kick off my shoes, hop on the scale, close my eyes and prayed for the best. Finally I hear her say"Got it" and I get off the scale and I get a very mellow and matter of fact "Wow, you did great." Yea, I thought and I asked "Well, how much is great?" The chick weighing me in says "8.2, you lost 8.2 this week." HOLY COW... 8.2 and that is the best you can give me for excitement, I thought to myself. That is a huge amount of weight to lose but I needed it, after gain of 2 and then anther 2.2 I was feeling a little down. So I did what I set out to accomplish, lose the 4.2 I gained back and with an added bonus of another 4 lbs gone!

SWEET

I Feel Pretty, Oh so Pretty

Yesterday was a great spring day. The sun was out, it was 59 degrees. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Yesterday was weigh in day again. I went there with such great confidence, feeling that I had done well, yet remembering that there could always be the chance for disappointment. But I wasn't worried. When I go to Weight Watcher's and get on that scale I always aim to lose a pound at the minimum. When I lose more, I am thrilled and of course when I lose less or nothing at all, ugh! Getting off track again, so back to yesterday. There I am getting ready to get on that scale. The leader asked how my week was and I responded "Well, let's just say that I had and awesome week!" I get on the scale, she writes my new weight down, looks at my old weight and here comes a loud "Holy Cow, what did you do this week?" Yes ladies and gentleman I lost S-I-X pounds this week for a total of 17.4 pounds. That puts me 6 pounds away from my first weight loss goal and my new fingernails!

Finally!

I bounced back from my weight loss or lack of weight loss this week. I jumped on that scale and managed to have dropped 2.2 pounds. Honestly I thought it was going to be more and was slightly disappointed but heck, -2.2, that is pretty good!

I guess the Annmarie version of Weight Watcher's really wasn't working out for me. I cetainlt didn't limit myself from the things I love, but I did exercise and track EVERYTHING I ate. And yes, I did say exercise!

Exercise has been something that I have not wanted to do and actually I wasn't doing it. Last week I decided that I would give it a shot and I hoped on my stationary bike or AKA "the clothes rack". I started with 15 minutes on Monday and added 5 minutes everyday, so Tuesday was 20 minutes, Thursday was 25 minutes, you get the picture. This Monday (tomorrow) I start at 30 minutes and do the same thing until I reach one hour, as long as I don't die in the mean time! 30 minutes was a struggle for this 32 year old, over weight chick!

I think one hour will be good for now.

My Big Day!

LOL..not really a big day but it has been the first week that I have been really good in a while. In about 5 hours I will be hoping on the scale one again. Hopefully this time with a better outcome. My husband is so funny he keeps telling me I am beautiful just the way I am! That is great and all but let's just be honest with ourselves here, I am certainly not what I was when we met. I now have this roll on my back which he refuses to acknowledge. "No honey, your wrong, you don't have back fat!" he always says. Yesterday I finally replied with "It is okay to be honest about it, no need to lie to me about something I see everyday!" Needless to say, he never said a word.

They say sleep is also a key to losing weight, sometimes I don't think I get enough. Today for example, it is Saturday and I woke up at 5:00 AM, go figure. Maybe I need a better mattress, like a memory foam mattress. How nice would that be?? Anywho, I am going to start my laundry and pay some bills..Then i am going to get in a quick walk before my weigh in. Hopefully I will have good news when I come back later today.

Sooo..The Scale Said

I didn't do so well! No one said weight loss was easy BUT I actually have been out of control the last couple of weeks! I did have a loss though of -.2 lbs, ugh! I really have no one to blame but myself, being an emotional eater doesn't help either. I don't over eat to much when I am happy, it usually happens when I am stressed and on Friday I was so stressed I didn't eat at all! That isn't good either. It was actually a first for me, not eating when I am stressed, so this must have been a new level of stress for me. Last week was one of the worse weeks for me. Oh well, there is light at the end of the tunnel, right?

Any Loss Is A Good Loss

So yesterday at weigh in I lost 1 pound! Good enough for me, I figured my weight loss would slow down eventually. Can't have huge numbers every week! That now brings my total weight loss to just over 10 lbs. I'll take it!

Today is my sons birthday and he is offically a teenager! Later tonight we are going to celebrate at home with cake and his favorite meal, Chicken Parm and also today is the day my parents have been maried for 35 years. I wish they lived close enough to come and celebrate with us.

Happy Birthday Zachary, I love you lots!

Yesterday

Yesterday's way in was much better than I expected... Another 3.8 pounds lost! I almost fell over when she showed me the chart. With the good news always comes some bad news. I guess I lose a point for my daily food points total. I am totally cool with that, maybe others aren't, but I am! It shows progress and there is nothing better than that!

Weighing In On Week 2

So how did everyone do this week? Me...umm. I lost a pound. I didn't stick to my goal of riding my bike. I did walk though so I guess it makes up for it all.

Losing weight is always hard and sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel, I had alot of that last week, but I made it through and ready to go this week! It amazes me how my motivation changes from week to week. Either I have a good week or a bad week, never in between!

Tonight I am going to run some errands, with all the talk of microwave popcorn being bad for you, I am really interested in getting one of those popcorn machines. I love popcorn and I would love to have a popcorn machine! Besides that, I need to do some grocery shopping, so I guess I will park farrrr away from the doors to get in a little exercise.

Weighing In On Week 1

So I am pleased with myself. I lost 2 pounds this week. I did what I needed to do. It certainly was not a perfect week, but that's okay. I did not exercise as planned, but that has always been my downfall. This week my goal is to exercise atleast twice. Need to start small, setting goals is great but starting off with them to high could be my demise.

I also wanted to mention something else. My insurance company offers something called Healthy Alternatives. They offer discounts on participating health related services and products. For example, if you wanted to join Weight Watchers, registration would be waived. There are discounts for acupuncture, fitness centers, nutritional counseling, massage, all of course with participating providers. So why not call your group/individual health insurance company and see if they offer something similar. You might find a decent discount to something you have always wanted to try.
